Tamil movie director Pa Ranjith, who is understood for his sturdy stand in opposition to casteism, has come out in assist of Deepa P. Mohanan, a Dalit PhD candidate on the MG College in Kottayam, Kerala, who has been on a starvation strike since October 29 .
Taking to Twitter, Pa Ranjith, who is understood for having produced the critically acclaimed Tamil movie ‘Pariyerum Perumal’, which offers with caste discrimination, tweeted, “#StandWithDeepaPMohanan, a Dalit PhD candidate on the MG College has been on a starvation strike since Oct 29, as her doctoral research have been delayed (sic) which was imagined to be submitted in 2015 however prolonged until now because of casteism in (the) College.”
Pa Ranjith additional stated, “We must always enable no extra Rohit Vemulas or Payal Thadvis getting killed by casteists in educational areas. For which, all of us have to lift our voices & stand with Deepa Mohanan until she will get Justice!”
Deepa has been on a starvation strike outdoors the Worldwide and Inter College Middle for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (IIUCNN) on the Mahatma Gandhi College in Kottayam for the final 10 days.
