GUWAHATI: Defending the proposed cow safety invoice in Assam, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday mentioned beef shouldn’t be consumed in locations where Hindus stay and the bovine is worshipped.
Throughout a dialogue in Assam meeting, the opposition AIUDF feared that the propsed invoice will encourage incidents of mob lynching like these within the “cow belt” in northern India.
“We consider that cow is our mom. We wish that beef just isn’t consumed in locations where cows are worshipped.
