One-stop centers to provide legal, medical support for Indian women to be set up across 9 countries | India News – Times of India


NEW DELHI: So as to help Indian women dealing with violence or any type of misery when they’re visiting abroad or residing there, the federal government has determined to set-up one-cease centers (OSC) to provide authorized, medical and emotional support across 10 missions in 9 countries to start with. The ministry of exterior affairs will set-up and function these OSCs within the missions overseas with support from the Union ministry of women and baby growth.
“One OSC will be established in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, within the (*9*)UAE, Australia, Canada and Singapore, whereas two will be established in Saudi arabia, ”A senior WCD ministry official mentioned, noting that 300 extra OSCs may even be opened across India.
Whereas OSCs acorss states provide support to survivors of rape and assault, the WCD has additionally determined to provide extra support by Nirbhaya Fund for minor survivors of rape who’re deserted by households together with survivors who’re pregnant. A senior official mentioned that the corpus of Rs 74 crore will be stored apart for want primarily based help for such circumstances.
