NEW DELHI: Subodh Kumar Jaiswal, a 1985 batch IPS officer serving as CISF DG, on Wednesday took charge as the CBI director.
The Central Bureau of Investigation was working and not using a common chief for over three months after Rishi Kumar Shukla accomplished his two-yr tenure on February 3.
Jaiswal was chosen from a shortlist of three officers — the opposite two being SSB Chief Kumar Rajesh Chandra and particular secretary in MHA VSK Kaumudi — cleared by the PM-led choice panel on Monday.
