BAREILLY: It was fairly a wedlock in UP’s Shahjahanpur when a bride and groom needed to wed close to the lockup. It began off usually and the groom was prepared and completely happy however the bride’s family, tipsy and a bit wild, beat up his kin and chased him away from his personal mandap.
Police intervened as safety was required from the very visitors who had been invited. However the ending was not as disastrous. After working round in circles for hours, the one venue that was discovered to be secure was the thana. The couple bought married on the police station, guarded by cops, in Shahjahanpur. It was 2.30 am by then. The groom took the seven steps of promise across the sacred fireplace with a fractured limb.
