Gus Mackay, the chief executive of Cricket Scotland, said after Scotland’s tour of the Netherlands was confirmed:
“It’s been a long wait for the players and staff, but we have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure that the team are able to start playing international cricket again as soon as possible and we are delighted to be able to announce these matches against the Netherlands.”Gus Mackay, Chief Executive Of Cricket Scotland
The series against Scotland will be the Netherlands’ first experience of one-day cricket since taking on Zimbabwe in June 2019. In March 2020, the Dutch team was expected to visit Namibia for three One-Day Internationals before hosting Pakistan in July 2020. Thanks to the pandemic, all shows were postponed.
